Leslie Storms, RN, M.S is an internationally recognized yoga teacher who loves living the practice.
Welcome
Hello, I'm Leslie.
When I first began practicing yoga, my hope was simply that it would alleviate the back pain I was experiencing so I could get back to weight training. I never imagined that what began as a way to care for my body would gradually transform the way I experienced life.
Yoga slowly became much more than movement. It became a practice of listening, presence, and discernment. Again and again, it invited me to slow down, look within, and discover that beneath the noise of everyday life there is a deeper stillness available to all of us.
I don't believe we are simply bodies moving through the world. I believe there is something within each of us that is wiser, steadier, and more mysterious than we often realize. My hope is simply to guide you toward this remembrance.
A Turning Point
There came a time when I was ready to walk away from the practice. After years of devoted Ashtanga Yoga, I found myself feeling discouraged. My practice had become increasingly disciplined, but somewhere along the way it had also become rigid. If I'm honest, so had I.
Before attending what I thought might be my final retreat, I remember praying. I told God that if there was another way of seeing, I was willing to see it.
That retreat changed everything.
My teacher Ty Landrum didn't simply introduce new postures. He reminded me that yoga is a practice of giving, but it is equally a practice of staying open and receptive.
That lesson has stayed with me ever since.
Without discipline, we can drift, and without openness, we can become overly rigid. I have found that this is true not only in yoga, but in relationships, caregiving, work, and life itself.
